i kind of always knew.
I remember the moment I realized that I wanted to be an artist. I was four years old (yes, four.) We were living in the UK, and my parents took my brother and I to see Bugsy Malone on the West End. I saw people singing and dancing for their LIVES onstage, and my body felt an electricity that I now know to be the passion for the craft. And then when the child actors came onstage? That was it. I was sold.
I turned to my mama in my seat, pointed to the stage and said, "I want to do THAT when I grow up." She tells me that she was like (eye roll) "sure honey...whatever..." Never imagining that it was possible that- at four years old, I had found my passion.
